Subject: Nate Silver
The NY Times had a long discussion between Nate Silver and John Guida about the list of likely democratic presidential candidates in 2028.

After categorizing the list from progressive (Ocadio-Cortez) to blue dog (Bashear), Silver goes on lament “the comparative lack of Latino candidates, or for that matter, Asian American candidates.”
I found this to be a stunning, and revealing, omission on his part after spending the previous part of the discussion discussing her ownership of the progressive wing among their list of candidates? Is she not Latina? Or did he just mean MALE Latinx candidates? Or is this just a sexist dismissal of women candidates in general? There is very little discussion of the women on the list beyond the relatively dismissive stance on AOC.
Silver, and the NY Times editorial board in general, want to see a milk toast white man who has “crossover appeal” as the democratic candidate in 2028 (assuming we don’t have a dear leader by then).
