Once Iran's ability to support Hezbollah against Israel's invasion has been crushed, Israel will still need the US to keep Iran knocked down, while Israel conquers Lebanon.

The notion that Israel intends to conquer all of Lebanon is ridiculous. At most they will try to control the territory south of the Litani river, about 20 miles north of the Israeli border, as they have done in the past.
