I am currently reading , "The Man Who Solved the Market", and highly recommend this entertaining book describing the rise of one , if not The, most successful investors of our time, Jim Simons.

The attached book review does a good job of summarizing the contents however the details in the book make for a very entertaining read as the path to success is anything but "Up and to the Right".
