The problem with the Democrats negotiating with the Republicans is that it is like Charlie Brown, as played by Jefferies and Schumer, negotiating with Lucy, as played by Trump et al, over how she will hold the football. It doesn't matter what is agreed to Lucy will jerk the ball away at the last moment.
