Subject: Re: The Fox News Strategy Against Harris
rumor has it that trump is scared to debate harris, but may have to.
let's hope the dems use their leverage properly this time to set the terms and mic moderation in real-time as lies spew. (and harris doesnt pick up the debate manager from the biden campaign)
regarding "Trump is still very much the favorite to win the Presidency", am modestly skeptical.
a. the largest factions, MAGA and anti-trump, are unchanged.
b. registered dems are a larger group than registered GOP, and pro-dems should get a boost...but how big?
c. polls have been bad since 2016, especially on the ~30% of true independents that do not respond to polls but show up to vote. that has trended blue per actual results.
in summary, the electoral college remains the same (more difficult for dems), and the inability to prospectively weigh b+c remains.
i would be curious if any well regarded non-politician with name recognition would have been considered for dem VP.
somebody 'like' jamie dimon, who preferred trump to biden, but i am fairly sure has loyalty to neither party. he certainly would make Vance appear as a finbro chump.
