Subject: AI collateral damage
Listening to O'Leary talk about his huge data center, proposed for Utah, which would draw 9Gw, in a state that currently draws about 4Gw, I envisioned massive new "mine mouth" power plants being built on the rim of Wyoming strip mines.

So, how deep are utility companies getting into feeding the demand for electricity?

Duke Energy $102.2 billion

Southern Company $81.2 billion

American Electric Power $72 billion

NextEra Energy $65+ billion (est.)

Dominion Energy $45+ billion (est.)

hmmm...I have positions in three of the top five, in exposure to AI data center defaults. I remember when Consumer's Energy wrote off the Midland nuke. iirc, they managed to avoid BK, but they weren't spending much on network maintenance, judging by the number of power failures I experienced in Kalamazoo.
