Subject: Remember Trump's FoxConn Con?
Six years ago president Trump visited Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, to announce a $10 billion investment by tech manufacturer Foxconn – with the promise to bring 13,000 jobs to the area.
Never happened.
Today, president Biden will visit the site in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, to highlight the success of his Infrastructure Law and his "Chips Act" that now have Microsoft investing $3.3 billion into building a data hub in Wisconsin that aims to train employees and manufacturers on how to best use artificial intelligence.
The new center aims to create 2,300 union construction jobs and 2,000 permanent jobs over time, according to Microsoft.
Microsoft said it will use the center to train about 100,000 workers across the state on generative AI by 2030, thanks in part to a partnership with United Way Wisconsin, United Way Racine and other community partners. It also plans to open a lab on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee to help companies and manufacturers infuse the technology into their businesses.
Since Biden took office in 2021, 177,000 jobs have been added in Wisconsin.
Biden has succeeded where Trump failed.
Again.
