Israel strikes Rafah as pressure mounts over war in Gaza

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the deadly Israeli airstrike on a camp for displaced people in Rafah a "tragic mistake." The Israeli military is investigating the airstrike, it said Monday.

At least 45 people were killed and 200 were wounded in the Sunday airstrike, according to Gazan authorities. The Israeli military claimed it struck a Hamas compound in the area, killing two senior officials from the militant group.

Qatar said Israel’s strike on the displacement camp could “hinder” ongoing negotiations aiming for the release of hostages and reaching a ceasefire in Gaza. Talks between Israel and Hamas are set to resume on Tuesday, officials said.

Yes, I know Israel is in a very difficult situation, but they're not helping themselves here.
