It's been a long time since I read it. But I was remembering that there was a second pope somewhere today. Not in history. Maybe I'm wrong. I did a bit of googling, but didn't come up with the correct search to tell me if I was right or wrong in my recollections. It was some eastern version, I think.

I think in history there was at one point something like 4 popes, all claiming to be the "the real pope". But that would have been several hundred years ago.
