Ayup. My podmates at the day job were constantly crying "I'm so broke". From time to time, I would be working, and hear a scratching noise. I would turn around, and see one of those "broke" coworkers, scratching lottery tickets. The other "broke" coworker was crying about paying $300 each for "Hanna Montana" concert tix for herself and her daughter.
