Subject: Re: Joanna Stern: I Quit Google Search for AI—
Just my opinion, FWIW.

Google stumbled a bit out of the gate rolling out its AI, but it has an extremely strong research team and managerial team and lots of money, and so I think they will do very well with AI/search going forward.

Those whole heartedly embracing 'AI search' should keep the AI hallucination problem (made up facts) in mind. Always independently check whatever an AI says. Perhaps "Google it" (:->
AI's that provide sources for its answers helps, I was being a bit facetious.

As for Alphabet: they are at the cutting edge of a number of areas, one is designing new drugs using AI, led by Dennis Hassibis who won the 2025 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for solving the protein structure prediction problem with AI.
