The opportunity cost is not very significant since the alternatives to the free turkey are a frozen stouffers lasagna or a bone-in ham.

The lasagna is OK but because it's frozen, it's easy to overcook the top layer.

The ham is a pain in the neck to deal with, I mean cutting around a bone is just more trouble than it's worth, and they have a little more fat on them than I care for.

But this is our regular supermarket so it's a total freebie for us.
