You are correct, however I fuzzily remember seeing something on CBC one time about him going home to see his mother in Stratford, after one of his break ups with Selena Gomez, so I kinda just assumed. But based on your latest post, I did a search and quickly came up with the following...

Justin Drew Bieber was born on March 1, 1994, at St. Joseph's Hospital in London, Ontario, and was raised in Stratford, Ontario. His parents Jeremy Jack Bieber and Pattie Mallette were both 18 when Bieber was born and split up not long after his birth.

I don't profess to know much else about him as not my kind of music. I'm more of a Dave Matthews, Jack Johnson, Joh Hiatt, Nathan Rateliff kinda guy.
