It never occurred to them that they made a deal with the Devil.

They think he represents King Cyrus in the Bible, who was not a believer, but helped the Jews, which I think brought about the building of the Temple Mount. They have a cultish belief that the Temple Mount must be rebuilt for the second coming, which will bring about the rapture - end of days. So when Trump moved the embassy to Jerusalem many of them saw the hand of God moving and swooned. This confirmed to them that he was the new embodiment of King Cyrus.

Many evangelicals think the above is bunk and they are powerless to affect the date of the end times and the rapture, but when I was in my early 20s driving around Texas I saw bumper stickers that said. "In case of rapture this truck will be unmanned." The Evangelicals going to the White House insist that discussions about Israel are geopolitical discussions, not religious. But I've read just normal pastors stating that Trump was the only Pres who did anything about abortion. In the end I don't pay attention to what they say, I pay attention to what the do, and what they cause to happen.
