Subject: Trump Rally: Harris is Indian-American
The Trump campaign is doubling down on this weird "Harris isn't Black" nonsense, projecting an article from "Business Insider" headlined "California's Kamala Harris becomes the first Indian-American US senator" on a screen at his Harrisburg, PA rally tonight.
First, it's a "Business Insider" headline, fer' Chrissakes. Since when did "Business Insider" become the arbiter of racial identity?
Second, for anyone trapped inside the right-wing Trump cult bubble, this may seem like a brilliant bit of gotcha' but for the rest of us normal people, it's just plain weird.
Some people are biracial and they can call themselves Indian, Indian American, African American, or Black and they're perfectly correct.
And at age 19 forty years ago, Harris enrolled in the most prestigious black university in America. Did she do so because she considered herself Indian at the time more than Black, as Trump said today?
BTW, this "Harris isn't Black" smear dates back to 2019 when Stop the Steal rally organizer Ali Alexander, a republican who dropped out of politics after asking young men to send him photos of their genitals in a teen sexting scandal said Harris was not "an American Black."
Seriously, does anyone in the Trump cult here think a full-fledged attack on Kamala Harris's race is actually going to work on Haley voters, double haters, or independents and get them to vote for Trump?
The Magic 8 Ball says "My reply is no."
