Some donut chugging fatass might be a great tactician but if he/she can't be bothered to do a couple of push ups and eat some salad once in a while...America can do better.
Do you think there are a lot of people in that situation? These are people that have been in the military for decades, and risen to the highest rank of military service. As you point out, dedication and preparedness are core principles of the service. If there are folks that don't meet 45-year-old Hegseth's standards for fitness, it might not be because they "can't be bothered" to stay in shape: it's probably far more likely that it's because they're in their 60's, or have been wounded or partially disabled, or have one of the many conditions that come with aging that make it impossible to exercise with the same regularity as one can in their 40's.

...continue to be a general? Clearly he's not fit to remain in service. Terrible example for the troops, doncha know - get someone in there that looks better on TV!
