Subject: Re: Trump speaking to "his generals"
Because if you have a general who's among the best in the world at military strategy, or overseeing the development of weapons programs, or managing the logistical demands of one of the largest organizations on earth, but is either disabled or older or just predisposed to being a little overweight in their older years, the best thing to do with that accomplished and talented military professional is fire them and replace them with someone who isn't as good at their job but runs a faster mile and looks good.

Yeah, no. Tell me you've never hung out with the military without telling me you've never hung out with the military. Part of being a soldier, sailor or Marine is readiness and overall physical makeup.

Physical readiness requires...discipline and dedication. Not to mention the fact that one of the most basic leadership principles in any system anywhere is Not asking your troops to do anything that you're not willing to do. It's one of the foundational elements of any successful organization.

Some donut chugging fatass might be a great tactician but if he/she can't be bothered to do a couple of push ups and eat some salad once in a while...America can do better.

Here's the Army's AFT:

Deadlfting 140lbs is a come on, man level of easy. A fit 40-something can go way past 300lbs especially with a hex bar.

10 pushups from a dead start in 2 minutes? Dude.

The sprint-drag-carry max time of 2:28 also isn't insurmountable.

A plank for a minute and a half? Train for like 2 weeks to get there.

Then run 2 miles at an 11 minute pace.

This isn't much to ask.
