They came up with a data-mined, false unscientific definition of "winter."

There's nothing "false" about the definition, we were using the term winter since the 800s. If they define their period to make a point, then show that these scientific periods you are using indicate that "winter" isn't getting warmer. Your response is pointless otherwise.
