Subject: Re: She Was A Hard-Core Activist
She'd almost certainly have had to do something more than have her car in the road for that to apply. Did she?
That's why I say I never saw a reason for him to draw the weapon. You have to have a reason to draw that weapon, I never saw one. If the fellow walking over to the car didn't have a reason to draw his weapon, what was the shooter's reason? If he felt in danger, why was he stopping partly in front of the car? Given a choice If I feel in danger I would stop at the side of the car. So I come to the conclusion he never felt in danger by his own actions, and he didn't draw the weapon because he felt in danger. She presented no threat. She acted more like Aunt Bee from Mayberry than a trained terrorist. Looking at his actions I would take him out of dealing with people as a peace officer forever. Regardless of he outcome, he hasn't got the temperament to deal with people.
Qualified immunity will likely get him off though. It's a shame he drew his gun.
