Subject: Dead Women, Dead Children
Secretary of State Marco Rubio struck a death knell to services from the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation - just one organization - which reaches 350,000 people on HIV treatment, including nearly 10,000 children and more than 10,000 HIV-positive pregnant women, informing the organization that three of its primary USAID agreements have been terminated and instructing it to immediately cease all activities and terminate all sub-awards and contracts associated with the awards.

“US Congress approved the funds, and that is what has been stopped. So we do believe that it’s an illegal grab. It’s an illegal halt of services and programs. It’s not following due process,” Hassan added.

The terminations will decimate South Africa’s HIV testing, data collection and HIV and TB literacy, said public health expert Dr Lynne Wilkinson, who added that USAID funds also assisted groups combating gender-based violence.

Also on Secretary Rubio's death list:

All malaria supplies protecting 53 million people, mostly children, including bed nets, diagnostics, preventive drugs, and treatments – terminated.

All tuberculosis programs, including the Global TB Drug Facility – terminated.

All supplies of US-manufactured emergency food packets for starving children – terminated.

USAID’s contract supporting deadly outbreak prevention, detection, and response, including Ebola and Bird Flu, in 50 countries – terminated.

Over 1,000 food kitchens in Sudan, a country with almost 25 million people experiencing acute food insecurity – terminated.

USAID’s contract for supplying essential medicines for maternal and child health in countries worldwide – terminated.

Screening program with the Mexican government to identify illicit drugs like fentanyl being smuggled at the US border – terminated.

The Trump administration is the literal kiss of death.

Perhaps Secretary Rubio will tweet one of his scriptures later today, the one where Jesus said let the little children starve or die a painful death so that billionaires could get better tax breaks and hoard money they couldn't spend in a thousand life times.
