guy who failed economics class and is in a cult
Hey - I didn't fail economics class! And I think Trump is vile and loathsome and would happily vote for anyone other than him.
But I think if you went out to voters and said, "Boy, Trump is really bad on economic matters because the U.S. workforce lost six million jobs between February and May of 2020. What kind of bad President does that to their economy?" the voters will almost certainly think you're being foolish. Because the voters know that what happened to the job market between February and May of 2020 had nothing to do with Donald Trump or his economic policies. In a way that they don't know about W and the Great Recession (or Hoover and the Great Depression) - because those sorts of economic crises can be affected (though not actually caused) by the economic policies of the U.S.
How about that record setting $8 Trillion Trump added to the national debt, do we stop counting after $1 Trillion?
Nope. I'm not excusing Trump for his economic policies - just pointing out that the reason voters trust Trump on the economy more than Democrats is because during the pre-Covid part of his Administration, the economy was doing pretty well. Debt was high, but voters generally like running debts to pay for current goodies.
