after ~5 years of facing fiber and 5G competitors, it is clear mangmt is so bad they still dont know how to retain customers and never will.

in my techie town, ~50% spectrum users convert to fiber at the same price as spectrum, for 2-4X better performance.
one cannot call spectrum for a lower cost plan, only upgrades.
spectrum cannot even be cancelled online (~1 hr wait time on phone, hoping customers will dropoff), but upgrades are 1-click.
once spectrum is dropped, a flood of their lower-cost internet plans appear in junk mail with all sorts of unwanted handcuffs (apple phone leases, cable, etc...)

i know no one in a very large circle of friends\colleagues\family that has ever returned to spectrum.
their losing strategy is based on inertia, and only-provider customers.
