Even if Alvin was on-site already, they would still have to find the lost craft (it could be anywhere within a couple square miles assuming it was on-target for Titanic), and then figure out a way for it to blow ballast. M/i>
The sub must have some lifting eyes. There are ROVs with rudimentary arms that can attach cables/shackles/recovery hooks to things that need to be lifted.
Reportedly the last known ping put the sub in the top 180 meters (590 ft). IF IF IF that's true then IF they have a salvage capable ROV in the vicinity, then a cable/shackle could slow tow the sub while reeling in the cable until they are near enough to the surface for divers to clamp on some lift pillows to get the hatch into air. Then quickly unbolt the 17 nuts.
It's a lot of ifs and no room for error.
