Subject: Powell a 'numbskull' says Donny
Borrowed from a comment on Seeking Alpha
"The Ballad of the Numbskull Fed"
Old Don was back with a bill and a pen,
Grumbling loud in the White House again.
“The rates are too high!” he began with a shout,
“Powell’s a numbskull, there’s no damn doubt!”
The press leaned in, their mics held tight,
As Trump turned red in the noonday light.
“One point? No — two! That’s what we need!
Cut them now, let the economy speed!”
He waved a chart with a scribbled line,
“See this dip? That dip is mine!
Inflation’s chillin’, prices are tame —
But Jerome’s still playing his boring game!”
Jerome Powell, calm in his chair,
Sipped his tea and tried not to care.
“I see no reason,” he coolly said,
As Trump screamed, “That’s it — off with his head!”
“We’re losing billions! Six hundred a year!
Because Jerome won’t shift the gear.
I could do it myself, just watch me, pal —
I’m the boss of the economy now!”
So markets wobbled, traders frowned,
As tweets went flying all around.
And somewhere deep in the Fed’s domain,
Jerome just sighed… and raised rates again.
