...until other teams overcome their fear of Hinch's stench of scandal, and make him a better offer. Then the Tigers go looking for someone who they can get cheap.
Losing talent is a long time Tigers tradition. I remember Lance Parrish, decades ago, complaining that the Tigers bring people up through their farm system, develop them into good players then "let them slip through their fingers". Parrish moved on to better offers in 86.
