Is 58 shot above average? Checking some figures, they get about 3K per annum. That's about 100 per week (just rough numbers). I think maybe they are making a big deal about it because labor day, or perhaps because of the Felon's threat.

Not that this is minor. It's a problem that can only be addressed through the limiting of firearm possession. Which isn't happening in this country any time soon, and is a losing issue at the polls. So nothing will be done. And, per statistics, Chicago isn't even the most dangerous city.

It's all theater. Tragic, cynical theater.

If 22 kids (Sandy Hook) couldn't rally enough support to take some serious measures, I genuinely don't know what will. Maybe nothing. Maybe America loves its guns more than its children.
