That's a well done study from the Lancet, Dope. Nothing to be sneered at, or treated cavalierly. The Lancet is pro science and very high in factual reporting. We used to have a statistician here, Loren Cobb, and he could evaluate the stat techniques uses and see if they were appropriate or flawed, but neither you, or LM have a clue methinks. I go by the reputation of the magazine and I don't think slightly less that 3 million a year in deaths is plausible. The USA doesn't have the best stats on childbirth deaths so if you wanted to put that money into reducing childbirth deaths I'd have a difficult time objecting, but you want to cut money for childbirths and it'll get worse. I understand black kids in Africa have little meaning to you, and child birth deaths in the USA aren't abortion, so it's not a hot button. It looks like kids dying isn't a priority - especially non-whites.
