Subject: Re: SI Pro Rankings 2024-10-11
I grabbed some Yahoo company profile snippets for these four. Spoiler alert, it looks like they are all software tech companies.
YMM 203040 - Ground Transportation
The Full Truck Alliance (YMM) is a leading digital freight platform in China, connecting shippers with truckers to facilitate shipments across distance ranges, cargo weights and types. (So it's a tech software company)
TOST 402010 - Financial Services
Toast, Inc. is an American cloud-based restaurant management software company based in Boston, Massachusetts. The company provides an all-in-one point of sale system built on the Android operating system. (side note: I just had a meal in Denver, and the server was using a Toast hand-held device - did ordering, billing, and credit card services all on the little device he carried around. My son said his establishment in Flagstaff AZ uses Toast systems as well.) So I'd argue it's a tech company.
GCT 255010 - Distributors
GigaCloud Technology Inc. provides end-to-end B2B e-commerce solutions for large parcel merchandise in the United States and internationally. The company offers GigaCloud Marketplace integrates product discovery to payments to logistics tools into one easy-to-use platform. Its marketplace connects manufacturers primarily in Asia with resellers in the United States, Asia, and Europe to execute cross-border transactions across furniture, home appliance, fitness equipment, and other large parcel categories. (So another tech software company.)
VTEX 502030 - Interactive Media & Services
VTEX provides software-as-a-service digital commerce platform for enterprise brands and retailers. Its platform enables customers to execute their commerce strategy, including building online stores, integrating, and managing orders across channels, and creating marketplaces to sell products from third-party vendors. (Sounds very much like GCT - tech software company.)
Those all seem like reasonable companies to show up on a screen that looks for 30%+ revenue growers in the IT & Tech Services umbrella. I wonder what changed in the screening processes that made them no longer show up? (These last 4 were previous screen picks - maybe their latest earnings reports didn't make the 30% revenue increase threshold....)
But I'd argue they are legitimate companies for this kind of screen. I wonder how we could capture these kind of companies moving forward?
