Of course, the recent run-up in oil prices, along with the recent run-up in OXY share price, is very likely temporary. There's still a worldwide oil glut, and wars end.

Isn't that the view usually summed up as "the boys will be home by Christmas?"

Maybe yes, maybe no. But I for one would not place a wager on the geopolitical situation improving as the year progresses.
