My brother had one that had iron sites 30.06.

My Uncle had one in 30.06 for deer hunting.

Strangely, as a boy, I learned to shoot on an old Mauser my father brought back from Europe in 1945.

As a boy I recall seeing & handling them on a floor rack at Big 5 Sporting goods... not an elevated rack behind a counter as they are now.
