They did this because Trump really pissed off Elise Stefanik when he pulled her nomination as U.N Ambassador. I mean really, Really, REALLY pissed off Stefanik. She wanted that position. She was going to extract her pound of flesh from Trump for that slight and this was her opportunity. She was a NO vote on the BBB until they gave her the SALT deduction (which she wanted for her wealthy blue district).
