Desperation in the rest of the world may cause international investors to flee to the safety of the U.S. markets which could cause the price of international stocks to crater.

That seems unlikely to me. As bad as other markets might be, we’re the one with an idiot at the helm, an unstable regime in place, and a megaphone blasting instead of speaking softly and carrying a big stick.

Were I in another country, I’d be reticent to put any money in this direction.
