Subject: Senate Parliamentarian Says Nope
The Senate parliamentarian just disqualified a bunch of provisions from the big beautiful GOP bill — including Medicaid provider tax language, funding restrictions based on immigration status (non-citizens who are refugees, granted asylum or paroled are eligible for federal student aid), spread pricing, and one prohibition on gender-affirming care.

This complicates the GOP's math on the spending cuts it needs to pass the package, as well as threatening the careful negotiations between the party's factions on reaching a final deal.

Republicans say they will adjust the language on provider taxes to meet the parliamentarian's standards to enable them to still shit all over lower- and middle-class Americans in order to give tax cuts to the very richest Americans.
