Subject: Re: I joined (obviously)
To me one of the two biggest shortcomings of the old Fool software was the inability to edit posts. (I always did Preview first, but even then the occasional typo would slip through, and there were lots of people who didn't bother with that step.) The new Fool software is an improvement, to be sure. (The original intent, as said to me more than once by more than one Fool employee was that because it was an 'investing' site, they didn't want people going back and changing their prediction or their 'buy' price or whatever after-the-fact.) I took that as reasonable, although given my experience in the new realm that hasn't turned out to be a problem at all.
The other shortcoming was, obviously, the inability to post pictures and charts (well, charts could be done, but only with incredible labor which few did). As it turns out they did add that to the code, but only allowed it on the Premium side. Why it wasn't added to both I don't know, except perhaps to give the paying customers a better experience? Or perhaps they were afraid that with their 'non-investing' boards like PA that it would turn into meme central and take gobs of bandwidth and hosting resources. Don't know.
But your boards would be improved, IMO, with some period of editing (longer, I think, than 'before read' as I often catch my typos hours later) and the ability to post and host pics, etc.
