The Republican party needs to go the way of the Whigs and the Know-Nothings. It was chaotic, but they had to sort themselves out (yeah, oversimplified). MAGA may be the catalyst that sets it in motion. They've already turned some of their own party against them (e.g. Lincoln Project).

As of June 2023, they aren't even focusing on what is top of people's priorities. Immigration is #3 for Reps. inflation and the deficit are #1 and 2 for Reps. Obviously it isn't even in the top 5 for Dems. Not even the top 10. Couldn't find data on independents, which would be crucial voters to appease. But that's beside the point. MAGA appears to be out of touch with many/most voters. That sort of party can't persevere.
