LurkerMom: What is Medicare funded by?
Funding for Medicare...
I was asking which revenue stream for the prescription drug cap that knighttof3 felt picked his pocket, not general Medicare funding.
LurkerMom: In fact, if you are signed up for both Social Security and Medicare Part B "the portion of Medicare that provides standard health insurance" the Social Security Administration will automatically deduct the premium from your monthly benefit. The standard Part B premium in 2023 is $164.90 a month.
Medicare Part B only covers drugs that typically aren't self-administered, usually drugs administered during a hospital visit or stay. The prescription drug cap applies to prescription drugs which wouldn't have anything to do with Part B but would be covered under the Medicare Part D benefit. So, apples and oranges.
