The downgrade. Has happened more than once historically.

The thing to keep in mind is "The standard is not perfection. The standard is the alternative."

Despite the absolutely horrible deficit and continuing annual deficits, the US is still financially strong in the world. It won't be forever, but it is currently. The other pertinent quote is "That which cannot go on forever, won't."
