Maybe I need a couple of drinks and an Arturo Fuente.

You might want to keep a slow pace on that. It's highly unlikely we'll know the winner today. Most of the swing states weren't called until the day after the election in 2020.

We won't even necessarily have an idea who will win. Remember, because of the way ballots are canvassed in most of the swing states, the early tranche of voters will not be representative of the later tranche of voters. Typically, smaller (and more rural) counties and Election Day ballots get reported more quickly. Larger (and more urban) counties and mail-in/absentee ballots generally get reported later. Since those two groups of voters are unlikely to have the same voting patterns and preferences, the early returns won't necessarily be the same as the later returns.

So if you start drinking now, you might have a very hard couple of days ahead of you!
